Stag’s baking heritage on the beautifully unspoilt Outer Hebridean of Lewis in Scotland dates back to 1885 and although the bakery is now modern, many things have not changed since those early days.
Skilled people, attention to detail, traditional recipes handed down through the generations and time-honoured methods are still at the heart of this artisan bakery. The result is an award-winning range of products including Water Biscuits, Oatcakes, Shortbread, Cheese Straws and the acclaimed Seaweed Range.
Taking inspiration from our island location, the Seaweed range transports you to the ocean using a unique blend of sustainably sourced seaweed from nearby sea lochs. Launched in 2013, the Seaweed biscuits have become Stag’s signature range with the Seaweed Water Biscuits receiving Best Scottish Speciality Product and the Nigel Barden Heritage Award in the same year.
Stag haven’t forgotten their loyal customers on the islands and still supply local residents daily with bread, savouries, pastries and celebration cakes but the savoury biscuits and shortbreads the bakery produces are now available in the wider world with stockists all across the UK and beyond.
